Hi,

Finally managed to purchase the black alloys i was looking for.
However the wheels come with different-shaped bolts.
I called the company and learnt that they are wobbly bolts.

Wheels are 5x100,it says on the boxes.
I will take them to garage to have them fitted but before that i wondered if anyone knows about wobbly bolts here on the forum?

I found some information on the web.
Wobbly Bolts aka Corrective Bolts

Now I know what they are for but are they any good? Is it safe?

Thnx,

i had "wobly bolts" on my 145 leaf when i changed all the bolts ... one thing that annoys me is rusted bolts!

Anyway ... back to the bolts ... they held the wheel in place ... the wheel didnt fall off ... seemed to do the trick ... had them on about 2 years :)

Anyhoooooo .... such is life

Is the centre-bore of the wheels correct?
Centre bore size is 67.1 but they sent 58.1 mm spigot rings with the bolts.
Should be fine then.

The majority of the weight of the car is transfered via the centre bore, so it's critical this is a snug fit. So the wheel nuts play a secondary role in terms of forces, and hold the wheel to the hub; obviously important for lateral forces, but wobbly bolts are fine for this.

I have them on my 155. As with any wheel bolt, so long as it's torqued/tightened the right amount, it'll be perfectly safe.

:)
