First up, this is a private poll so, nobody can see how you voted. However if you dont mind sharing, What did you do it in/on???

Just curious really as to the rate at which we will seek thrills when we know/think plod isn't looking.

Not sure I should be admitting this...suspect this thread will get slated by the anti-speed campagners, but....130, last week, might have gone faster in the past but can't remember. Outright speed is not my aim, fast (safe!) driving wherever possible is more fun.

I managed to get to about 125mph in the Coupe on an Autobahn before Mrs Bazzas eyebrows started to rise.
Also did 120 once in the 145 QV on the M6 Toll.
Both cars were, at the fastest point, still pulling very impressively - clearly capable of going a fair bit faster.

Just under 150mph on the clock twice on public roads, not saying where or which country!!

First time was many years ago in a 12V 164 whilst playing with a BMW M5, i was 19! Great fun.

Second time in my Volvo T5 which was a very quick car at those speeds, got there a lot quicker that the Alfa!

TVR regularly saw + 130MPH but top speed is boring ,corners are where the driving skill happens. Opposite lock in a TVR is more fun than any top speed.

Took up rallying and sprints etc because of this!! :)

Ashamed, no! If it was passed a school or a residential road then yes speeding there is totally wrong. On an empty motorway in the early hours is bad but anyone of has fast cars or is a petrol head has done it. Everyone speeds even if only by 10mph, its all the same.

That's not bad for a Matta, even if you do mean KPH

Incidentally, I wasn't aware that there was an anti-speed campaign on this forum (although there is a stop whinging if you're caught one). However, I believe that a person has been prosecuted for admitting to an offence on a similar web-site...

I am always ashamed every time I go over 70mph :( :tut: :(

(having said that, I have reached 115ish on an empty M27 late one night in the JTS - had to rein it in though as I spotted traffic ahead, but I reckon there was plenty left in her   ;))

had my JTS up to an indicated 130mph on an (unspecified:D ) uk motorway late at night with no traffic. she was still pulling as well, although had to pull back as there was some traffic up ahead after about a 2 mile empty stretch. thoroughly enjoyed it - the car felt very assured even at that speed and i wasn't being a danger to anyone else so why the devil not? it's a strange feeling when you've been up to those speeds when you brake hard for what seems like an eternity only to realise you're still doing 90:lol:

Had the Audi up to 140+ had to keep my eyes firmly on the road though at that speed.

Awesome thing about it though, the A3 felt as solid and road secure at that speed as it did at 70. Can't wait to see what the 170 bhp (30 bhp up on the current one) Sportback we are getting will do.

Alpine Turbo max'd on an A road down hill was a car I'd bought to sell on for a profit after playing with it for a a few months I only had a half share in it & the lad I bought it with was, shall we say a poor driver & I didn't want him to decide to take it for what I suspected would end up as a very literal spin so I scared the life out of him with it, as I expected he didn't want to even go in it again afterwards let alone drive it. I just cleared 150

The Red Pepper will (eventually) reach a chronographed top speed of 216 km/h (135 mph).

First time was in Belgium.

Subsequent "Top Speed" occaisions were in Germany on my way to Greece; Italy between Milano and Ancona; and in Greece: Attiki Odos (our equivalent to the M25); andon the motorway between Athens and Thessaloniki.

Since there seems to be a "regular tendancy" where my Bella is "slightly" over the speed limits, a top-of-the-range radar/laser detector has been purchased and is often used :):D

France, 160 on the clock in my M3. Made the South of France to Paris in the day!

But here in the UK, I've kept below 110mph. But as Moynesey says "but top speed is boring " I'd have to agree, I prefer the acceleration etc than the flat out bits!

Whats that, about 145mph with one hand on the wheel, another on the camera?? ;)

I have no similar claims to fame other than 200 kmh in a rented Megane on hols.
Most scariest was my old deux chevaux which would do around 85 mph, or my smart which was remapped and would do about 105mph on 145mm front tyres..scary.
