Well I'm thinking of selling my GTA SW as I'm starting my own business & need a van. Been looking on autotrader & the prices seem all over the place 1 on there now for basically £8K for a saloon! with a SW going for £5.5K. Just going by the pics I'd say mine was in better condition.

Mine is an 05, I'm 2nd real owner, 1st was preregistered Fiat dealer, it was bought from a forum member back in 2008. Cosmos blue, imola interior, usual sensible mods i.e. Q2, Koni's, very good condion (mint to me would be brand new or nut & bolt restoration) FSH with specialists, 80K(ish) miles. Anyone want to give me an idea of how much i should stick it up for??

Just noticed MaccaSLR for sale ad, where he was offered £6K trade in but his has lower mileage, how does everyone think that would relate to mine?

Cheers

There is a red SW with similar miles to yours up for about 5500. It's a bit older I think though.
Both owners are on here so why not send them a message to see if they have had any interest at the prices they are asking? They might even be sold.

Ignore that red saloon 8k, that's been for sale for about 3 years !

There are usually some on piston heads too for comparison.

I don't know of any dealer that would give 6K trade-in on a GTA Sportwagon unless they already had a purchaser lined up for it. But I don't know all dealers :)

You need to write a good advert for it, this is mine for my GT which you could use as a basis if you want, just change the particulars:

Used ALFA ROMEO ALFA GT 3.2 V6 24V for sale - PistonHeads (Ref 1485159)

Most 156 GTA's being offered for sale appear on either e-bay, Pistonheads or Autotrader, although one or two also come on here, I think it is important to bear in mind that the prices shown are all just asking prices, obviously it is very difficult to discover what the cars actually sell for. I have been following GTA sales ads since February and, in the main, sadly they appear very difficult to sell. Last week for instance, there were 10 cars (inc. sw's) available on the above sites, five of the 10 cars have previously been offered at a higher price in the last few months, some of these cars have been continuously for sale since February (some for a lot longer). One of the cars is the £8K saloon which you mention and which has been discussed widely on here in the past, enough to say that this asking price provides no useful guidance on the market value of your sw. Another sw with a high mileage is asking just £3K so, again not too relevant. Most of the cars currently for sale are asking between £4,300 and the £6K for the MaccaSLR sw posted earlier in this thread. As you say this car has only 60K miles and it also has an impressive spec. To cut to the chase therefore, IMHO, if you need to sell your sw, you are probably going to have to put it on for (say) £5,250.00 and be ready to take anything above £4,750.00. I hope this helps.

Lol there value has dropped alot when I see the prices if really sorted sportwagons I figure mine even thou modified in all the right ways: fsds, eiback springs an arbs, gtv manifold el downpipes, 330s. The mileage 130k plus and the bodywork which is state doesn't make it worth alot. Don't want to spend money on it to sell. So when i suggested to my mechanic who wants one in return for alot of work my saloon I will give him the keys and the log book. He seemed happy as alot of the bill will be labour but I will make sure I get a better price than if I sell privately and any credit left over will be paid off in future work. Good deal for me.

It is more of a buyers market I have a Wagon that I bought must be 2 years ago now at just over 7k from happy biker on here but was / and still is a nice car.
It depends if someone is out there and in the market for one some people will pay more I think for a car that needs no work as such.

When you take into account how long you have owned a car for you have to take into account depreciation as all cars lose money year on year, my sportwagon only probably owes me 6-6500k and I have owned it for nearly 3 years. Even if I sell for less than 3k its only lost over 1k a year which good value to me for the enjoyment I have had out of it.
