What is my car worth?

1999 t reg phase 2 lusso with black leather. Has done 86k on the clock and motel to back it up. Some old history but not a lot, previous owner was supposed to forward it on. Has a noisy clutch release bearing, clucth isn't slipping just noisey when depressed. Airbags light is on, ABS light is on due to previous owner drilling out the locking wheel nut and damaging the thread so will need a replacement hub probably.

Paint work is red although not the best in the world as it has faded in places although a lot better than when I bought it! Its taxed and mot'd until the end of June! Runs well and goes very well, had oil, air, fuel filter and fresh oil and a rocker cover gasket in last week.

Just wondering what its worth as for me its not practical with a 3 year old daughter and misses with shopping etc and days out.

Car is in near junction 8 of the m25 for reference.

Cant help you with the price but online shopping helps :)

With only 1 kid you have loads of space beside her for shopping or day trip stuff :) I have to go out with a 6 and a 9 year old :)

Lol true but she is like me, tall! The passenger seat has to go all the way forward to get her in and then the misses has no leg room! Boot is OK as she doesn't like going in the buggy luckily or I'd abbey well stuffed there.

I got mine (very similar to yours but it did have 130k on it) for £700 last year. Prices have been dropping since :(

As above, it's a sad state of affairs but you probably only have £500 worth of car there :(

So I'm probably better off keeping it and running it into the ground so to speak? I'm happy to spend a bit of money on it but as you say there worth nothing now plus it means having 3 cars once my Volvo is back on the road.

You have to be philosophical about Alfa ownership, if your in it to make money then a GTV is not the car to buy unless we talk long term, and then I think the prices will rise. In the mean time what you have is a stunning Italian sports car that looks a million dollars but cost beer money to buy.

So enjoy it for what it is, not what it`s worth. Most onlookers will be green with envy they see you in this much overlooked gem and very few will know it`s true value. Put on ya Raybans, hang your arm out the window and crank up the CD..... Dammm, you look good fella.

I may have missed it but did you mention when the all important belts etc were changed ? (if you know) cause that will cost and its really not worth a lot without proof of this imo

its difficult to say what to do.You have to bear in mind if you do keep it then its likely to cost you a fair bit of cash to keep it up together. If money is any kind of issue then i would cut my losses and sell it while it has MOT ETC

You don't have to run it into the ground mate!

Look after it and enjoy it
I have been looking after it, and enjoying it as its my 3rd alfa, had a 164 cloverleaf, 166 sportronic and now the gtv. Its just not practial for a family car, i already have a toy ( mk1 escort ) and my written off, cat c volvo t4 that will be fixed soon now insurance is sorted out.
