Well in the 9 months I've had my 159 (2.4 56 with 52,000 miles) I ve had the following parts replaced:
ignition coils
glow plugs
steering rack
battery
handbrake cable
Boot catch
Brakes all round
air con unit
new tyres all round needed shortly.

I know some are consumables and on the plus side (and its a big plus) its the best car I've ever had, but my partners tatty old citroen ax has just needed a new headlight bulb in the same time - and she keeps laughing at me

2.2jts, 22,000km three years old in May, one service and thats it. Inner edges of front tyres wearing quicker than i'd like they need to be replaced at around 30,000km i'd say.

haven't needed anything doing on mine yet. although i've only done 5000 miles since i've owned it (its on 20k total). the egr valve was replaced under warranty before i picked it up, that's all i know

passenger side mirror
noisy steering wheel
gear stick ball
Alarm sensors
Indicator stalk
rear alfa badge replaced

Those are the things i can remember that did get fixed under warrenty.
other things didn't get fixed as they did not see a fault, like the clunking noise when i change gear.

what was your aircon unit replaced for? Mine keeps smelling once the A/C starts up

I've got other problems too like a weird 3rd gear engagement and a clunk when shifting gears sometimes (guess I'm not the only one), but can't find the cause or get the dealer to do anything about it.

More reason to insist that a 2 year warranty is thrown in rather than one! I really like the 159. The styling, drive are, well, phwwoooaaaaarr! But I'm not paying for failed components like this when my last 3 cars have cost me nothing but regular service items!

A new turbo was put on when i bought the car because the old one was making the police siren noise and it has just had a new egr valve under warranty.

To be honest when I bought the car it wasn't the best around and looked as if it needed a bit of TLC, but it's getting better and better!
Car is three years old in April, I've had it since August/ last 4k miles

Ignition coils on a diesel??????

I have had a PAS pump, EGR gasket and an oil pipe, interior mirror and the wheels aligned.

I Have done 83,500 miles now car is 56 plate so 3.5 yrs old and apart from usual wear and tear such as tyres, and brake pads, one head lamp bulb, wipers, the only other issues all fixed no quibbles b4 warranty ran out was:-
Steering Wheel Rack replaced
Faded Alfa badge on front.
And thats it

Alfa customer service 10/10, but can you imagine having to pay for the work if it fell out of Warranty, £5000+? 3 months warranty left, time to upgrade.

New EGR valve
EGR restricted restrictor plate
Drivers door rubber seal
2 new front tyres (due for 4 shortly)

Having a new clutch at the end of the month.

All except the tyres is under warranty. There have been other issues under warranty trying to get the engine to run smoothly below 2000 rpm, its still rough in his rev range, although once past this point it is fine.

5 Services for £1300 sounds very good - I presume you used a Specialist because I was quoted £505 by the Main Dealer for just the 36k Service!

£4400 on tyres really brings home the magnitude of the tyre wear 'issues' with these cars

Having seen how many cars seem to be having their clutches replaced (particularly yours 159 James, as judging by your mileage, it must be pretty gentle on the clutch) at around the 30-40k mark, I'm starting to wonder whether mine's wiating for the warranty to expire in 6 months time before letting go
