What’s the best size speakers front and rear in the 156 and which check straps did you use out of interest (one)?

depends but standard size is 16.5cm iirc and has a hole for a tweeter ... so components are usually the way to go ... if your going for a decent sound stage i usually just leave the rears off unless i have rear seat passenger so just a cheapish set if any... really decent deep speakers wont fit in the plastic holders so its difficult to know whats the best that will fit really

I’ll have to take them out and check. I’ve found some reasonably priced 16.5 cm 2 ways by Blam audio, but they are about 62mm deep from the back of the mounting surface and I’ve got not idea if they’ll fit.

Not after anything too fancy, just 2ohm as the Bose sound tired and only work when turning them up - but could just be connectors that need cleaning from a search result.

Took the 156 GTA out for a drive today (not my daily). I’ll never get tired of it!

Decided to keep the climate control off and open all the windows. Slightly confused about closing the back ones on the way back - or my hearing was out whilst driving. Turns out the switches work the wrong way around. Not had the car long.

I guess it’s another reason to take the doorcard off and replace the check strap!!!!

It’s a saloon. Yes is caught me out but made me chuckle when I realised. I do have a door strap to replace - sometime this decade the rate things are going with how much spare time I have I just want to drive it. I might just leave it like that for a laugh. Good talking point about Alfa electrics to non-Alfisti!

Cars off the road due to failed alternator so decided to have a go at removing the gunk from the centre console.

Used alcohol, caustic soda, panel wipe,
Meths and they were all totally useless.

So experimented with an unlikely product which is ‘driveway concrete and masonry cleaner’🥴. Total transformation. Lifted the gunk off with a few passes with a load of microfibre clothes and just repeated.

I also cleaned the lumber support knobs that were super sticky. Again, after a few wipes, they come up
Brand new.

I made sure I rinsed off all the chemicals with a damp cloth.

Took the car to MVC the local South Manchester Alfa specialist for the cambelt kit and auxiliary belt kit today. I’ve been waiting quite a while as they tend to manage the Busso workload and spread it a bit.

Got there at 830 only to be told the boss that normally oversees work on them is off on a last minute holiday and to drop it off on 17th September in 4 weeks’ time!!! Shame they didn’t call to let me know before I took car car out of storage at my mys house.

Might see if anywhere else within a reasonable travelling distance can do it sooner. Alfatune don’t seem to answer the phone so not sure if they are still trading?

make sure the master is for RHD car, Lots around but most for LHD. They’re different due to bell housing being only on one side

I was looking for some feedback. My mind is made up but I was wondering what others thought on this was.
I'm going to get a private reg for the car. Its my 50th soon and I kinda thought is was a good idea. My wife also secretly had the same idea and I'm glad I mentioned it as she was going down the route of getting something personal to me.
I definitely want something personal to the car
I went with L50 GTA.
Thoughts!?
