I have mine set at the minimum distance because I find that on a motorway it will detect the vehicle ahead so far in advance that it slows the car down before I have a chance to move to the outer lane, or other traffic pulls into the space between me and the vehicle in front causing the brakes to apply very aggressively.

Painted the chrome tailpipes gloss black as the chrome just looked odd as there is no other chrome on the car.

This is part way through !

Next up was the GTAm spoiler

Just for balance....I really like the spoiler (I guess that will surprise no one!) .....and I would expect it to be functional to a degree......bearing in mind the vehicle it comes from. Not cheap either I would imagine.

Looking at the instructions there are some sticky bits of film to go under the rubber pads on the roof. Then there are some bits that clip into the door recess. Best description I can give until I try to actually fit them 😃

Guys, chuck all your roofracks in the bin! I've been using these for ages. Works on any car, costs way less than a proper rack. I've mostly been using for surfboards but it will take a ladder or fishing gear... not good for long journeys or for transporting stuff at 80mph on the motorway but portability is brilliant and they are much cheaper than the 'proper' alternative, and usefully have the tie down straps built in. You can apply a lot of pressure to hold your load on, and easily see how secure everything is from inside the car. No damage to the roof on any car I've used them on, but obviously you need to keep everything clean and not carry a stupidly heavy load on your roof. When you get to where you're going, just deflate and stash in the car.. they won't get nicked. To inflate you just blow into them which takes a couple of minutes, no fancy pumps needed.

There are probably cheaper Chinese imitations but I would recommend getting the Moontubes, the quality is worth paying for. They have a lifetime guarantee and mine are wearing just fine. Usually once people see them in action then they want them. If you are using an inflatable board/boat on holiday and driving to your destination then you can get there, inflate everything and then just throw it on the roof when you need to. Saves you having to mess around pumping things up and then you just deflate everything including the roof rack before you go home. SImple!

For a big fat box, agreed, but these are much tougher than they look. They are thick plastic. the weight limit is 60kg, so if you're not wanting a permanent fixture and don't mind the straps going through the car, then these are a good choice.

Got some roof bars so my fishing rods can travel in a roof box and not laid on the leather seats. Just got to workout how they fit and whether to stick the protective film on the roof.

Took me a while to work out, but once you do they are fairly easy. I didn't use the protector strips as I only put them on occasionally to carry bikes, and they don't mark.
