I underestimated how long it was going to take and ran out of time "how hard can this 7:54 YouTube guide be?" so haven't driven it yet. The only improvement I care about is induction noise, anything to add some occasion to the muted driving experience is welcome which I'm sure this will deliver.

What brand are your red hoses and where did you get them from? They brighten up the engine bay a treat 👍

I removed the boot carpet for the 1st time since buying the car 3 weeks ago and saw this long aluminium looking pad across the width of the boot floor, does anyone know what it is?

Very nice looking splitter. Which one did you go for? Also how is this one attached?

It's the JC Sportline one off eBay. The sellers name is speed_tuning, and it came with 3M adhesive strips all around the mounting face and also some self tapping screws for extra security.

Got my private plates fitted that I've had on every car ive owned for the last 20 odd years, 60mm shorter than standard at the rear and 100mm at the front, with all lettering and spacing 100% legal.

I keep thinking I need to do that, my plates look massive.

I mounted the front plate on the shorter plinth, but for the rear I have done away with the plinth altogether.

I didn't want to go much shorter than standard on the rear because I think that would look strange with too much boot panel on show, but decided I could get away with shorter on the front. I'm pleased with how it looks.

I'm afraid it's also a No from me regarding the front screen tint but definitely a Yes for the rear spoiler, and don't forget the dark badges 👍

Has it all been fitted off centre or is one driveshaft longer than the other? A long time ago I know but some Escort Mexicos had odd length driveshafts, and this caused the left rear wheel to rub when cornering hard, but not the right!

Scuffed an alloy on a random kerbstone sticking out on a B road, and also tore the wheel arch liner after hitting a deep puddle on the same road. Not a good day 🤬 🤬 🤬

Sorry, I'm not a fan of the GTAm spoiler, it's just too "in your face" and reminds me of the one fitted to the Sierra XR4i's in the 80's.

I love the rest of the car though

I have mine set at the minimum distance because I find that on a motorway it will detect the vehicle ahead so far in advance that it slows the car down before I have a chance to move to the outer lane, or other traffic pulls into the space between me and the vehicle in front causing the brakes to apply very aggressively.

I took mine in to be detailed and ceramic coated this morning and boy does it need it after doing a 330 mile round trip to the Triumph motorcycle factory yesterday!

I'll be picking it up again next weekend and hopefully there'll be less of the filthy salty crud on the roads by then.
