Nice round trip of about 130 miles on Sunday then turned over 164,000 miles as it was going to the lockup to be SORNed. 166 3.0

I've been missing from AO for a few years (getting divorced tends to drive one off-grid :-0). I guess less activity here shows how increasing rare the sight of a 166 is today!

Anyway, i'm hoping to have her taxed and insured as soon as this lock-down is over.
On the to-do list is:

Belts + waterpump
Oil + filter
Heater/aircon/matrix hasn't work properly in 10 years!
Dark ICS
Central Locking is toast
Windows and Doors need lubricated
Boot switch in glove compartment not working
Oooh And only have one half melted key (long story)

If anyone has any "easier" or economic fixes for these i'd be grateful

This had quite a bit of work done to it to get it back on the road (should I take the thread title absolutely literally?) I polished it on Saturday after getting the 4 wheels aligned.

Brought home another 166.
So I'm up to 6 including parts donor and track car.
This is one is a 2000 2.5 Sportronic with 43,000 miles on it.
Has been SORNed for 8/9 years....

I wanted auto Pomie as I've come to the conclusion that my hip and low back don't like anything but the lightest of clutches. It needs fettling but is a very decent base for a nice cruiser....

Well, I mopped up more water out the car today after the recent wet weather. Can see that being a daily occurence for the foreseeable future

Just seen you were parked on the level.
The MAIN DRAIN is in the centre of the car just behind the firewall.
Apparently you can get it from underneath IF you locate the rubber hose bit. I've never been able to locate this from underneath

Mustapha bean the bump on the heid when Lucy fell on me last week after a pure condom moment.
Boy was I lucky. That must be my 8 lives used up.
Spent the last two days limbo dancing unner the jack bricks agin doing the front in and oot those dudty blebells that go to the ABS unit and the when finishing I saw the bunnet is no sitting right. nay brakes and Lacey stopped her. BUT looks like a no go.
As the two Ronnies used to say it goodnight from me and goodnight from him. I am hanging up my spanners.
End of the road for me . It's been fun but I need to learn when to call it a day.

Still one pipe to do but each job is getting harder and jist no up to it no more.

This got through its NCT (MOT equivalent) retest on Wednesday night.
Very happy bunny. Fresh oil, filter, cambelt and water pump too

Did you catch the culprit?
I changed the air filter and swapped the rear PS window regulator (pre loved item) in my 2.5 sporto yesterday.
One seized nut got the wee angle grinder treatment.
Window working again

The rodent had chewed through the O/S indicator and O/S ABS speed sensor wires, in it's attempt to get from the engine bay to the scuttle area.
The joys of owning a Jap import, something that has spent time in storage and on a ship.
No other damage was found to the loom, and the mouse has left the building!

I brought one back unawares from the lockup in a floppy box of Christmas decorations. That was a fun few days...
