Took down my EGR valve for the first time for a clean/replace if needed, this was also my first "bigger" project on the car aside for the MAP sensor which doesn't count since it only has one torx screw holding it in. :D

Turns out the upper part (solenoid?) is perfectly fine, even the lower part was good as well, the whole valve moved as it should. I did some cleaning on in as seen below (not fully done in the picture), once I have more time to let the valve soak in carb cleaner I'll give it another go and let it sink for an hour or two, but for now, I'm happy I have no reason to buy a new EGR valve.

The whole process with the cleaning took me around 1.25 hours, the biggest thanks to ShiftyBloke for the amazing EGR cleaning tutorial, but no way I'm gonna drill into the plastic :D

Thanks to Tommywho156 I fixed my airbag light. I'll have to take it on the road to see if any driving will bring out the issue one again, but if this fixed it forever, I saved a huge amount of money and headache when I'll have to MOT it.

While not exactly today, but on Saturday with the help of my electrical engineer dad (also happy father's day to everyone) we managed to install the reverse camera for my GT. We actually got the power for both the camera and the monitor from the reverse light cables, and it works just fine. It took us 4 hours, a little bit of drilling, but it was worth it.

Yesterday I screwed my engine guard up in a few more places as it was hanging a bit too low and was scraping the road.

To my surprise today a set of LED sidelights have arrived from Spain even tho I ordered them from China. Explain this to me with your words and logic.

Fun fact, in Hungary LED sidelights/headlights aren't allowed unless they are factory fitted, so I'm official a law-breaking badboy now. :smokin:

Now the only question that remains is that should I go with a LED High/Low beam set, or white colored halogen bulbs?

Not so much - what have I done to my gt today, more like what someone else did to my GT today....bashed the door and let me discover it!!!
I’m guessing the wind caught the neighbouring car door . I’m a so annoyed.

What should I do?
To me, this looks like only a dent and the metal isn't tron apart. If that's the case I saw it on the internet that with hot water and pushing it form the other side (or pulling it out with something) can help it get back to it's original shape.

So, this wasn't exactly today, but two days ago I took of the front bumper (thanks to shiny_car for the amazing tutorial), because I noticed the washer fluid is leaking, the leak was coming from the headlight washer. Since the washer unit itself was leaking I decided to just fill the water tube, so as of right now, the headlight washer isn't working but at least I'll have washer fluid in my car for the winter.

The pop-up washers (it looks like you have those ones) are known to leak from an internal seal that eventually fails - no way to reliably replace 'em either.

Good news is that the headlamp washer jets from a Renault Laguna II of similar vintage fit perfectly (need to swap out a quick-click connector on the hoses that the Renault uses, but otherwise ..

It was an NCT (Irish MOT) fail for me last year that the jets didn't push enough water out, so ended up having to replace 'em ... about €180 if memory serves for the pair from a local Renault dealership.

Thanks for info :) Since the front bumper is broken and rightside front indicator is cracked which is also a MOT fail if I recall correctly here in Hungary I'll might just replace the whole front bumper from a scrap shop, I got quoted for 270 eur for a whole front bumper with grills and such.

Removed the front bumper again after 3-4 weeks since I've sealed the headlight washer hoses since my right washer was leaking. I've noticed that it did some strain on the washer pump, since it can't push fluid down but correct me if I'm wrong, so I've only sealed the leaking headlight washer, but water still wasn't getting to the windscreen jets, luckily a clean to the jets did the job nicely.

The tractor passed it's MOT (given for 2 years in Hungary) yesterday with only front flexible brake line and handbrake adjustments as issues that both have been fixed. Now, I should treat her with new badges, steering wheel buttons, maybe a FMIC? :D

Been wanting to do this for weeks, I used a Genuine Mito front badge which located and bolted perfectly after removing the lower locating lug as doesn't line up..
Anyway love it or hate it, I love it (it's a shame the bonnet isn't straight across the front but it sort of matches where it angles for the lights) <img src="http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />
Where did you get that badge from? I think it looks really cool and i've wanted to do something like that for a while now.

Thanks, I have a Giulietta too with the same style grill but obviously as standard so seemed a natural subtle mod
for the Gt to modernize the front end :)
I got the badge off ebay, its the Mito front badge for £15. Be sure its the complete badge otherwise youl be mounting the bare tin badge to the black plynth which works but looks less factory I think?
The good thing is you can bolt it from behind using original bolt too ?:)
Thanks, that's what I was interested in, as in is it a full badge, with mounting holes and all that or just the self adhesive ones. Now I know :)

I've finally got around to replace my intake pipe that's been cracked since forever. It took me around 2-3 hours of casual working, but thank god I've finally got around to change it. I had an overboost issue with the car for so long, and I thought it was sticking turbo vanes, but as it turns out, this cracked intake pipe was at fault. Now my GT only boost up to 2.2 bars instead of going up to 3 and going into limp home mode.

While to while thing was in pieces I've also changed the air filter, since it's a pain in the ass to do it.

Have a great weekend eveyone :)

Well, it was on Saturday, but I've finally got a hold of a TI wheel set with summer tires, and this morning I went to the tire service to have the valves replaced, because they were hidden valves.

Looks pretty good, the ride isn't that bad switching over from a 16" multispoke set to this one either. Over the winter I'm planning on refurbishing it and put some nice Pirelli P Zero on them.

Looking good! Ill have to add these to the list of "wheels i think are cooler then mine", but given how rare they are, i dont think ill ever find a set for a price worth swapping.
Thanks! :) I've found it in Romania from someone who IMO wasn't really understood how rare they are, so I got it for 250 GBP with the tires.

Well this was actually on monday, but my front left kept deflating on my new TI wheel, so I took it to a tire shop, because I assumed i got a puncture. Well, I did got on.

Too bad the puncture is on the wheel, and it's a fracture and not a puncture. It's in the shop now since yesterday morning, we'll see of the manage to fix it, so far no call from them that it's unfixable.
