Replaced rocker gasket and started the prep work on a cup kit for my 2.0 twinny.
Last weekend I replaced the boot seal and took it for a pre MOT inspection (due in July) all it needs is rear top ball joint
Where did you get your Cup kit? I'd like to do the same to my Twinnie.

The kit was on a green ph2 twinny I bought about 2 1/2 years ago I removed it and now I'm spraying it black to put on my own twinny, it's a genuine kit and I also have a genuine rear window straddling spoiler to go on
My Twinnie is black as well. Post some pictures when it's done or if you change your mind and decide to sell your Cup kit let me know :thumbu p:

i'll post some picture as i go.

you cant get better that a black gtv twinny.

after the cup kit and window spoiler its on to the wheels then exhaust and some tints for the windows, oh and a shiny black centre console
I'll look forward to seeing the photos. What are you going to use on the centre console? Are you doing the wheels yourself? Mine is a bit shabby and needs something doing to it but not sure what. Have you got a phase 1 or 2?

At some point I'm planning to dye my carpet black and re-cover the headlining in black as well... really good guides to doing both on Squadra 916 curtesy of PKR.

I have 2 black roof linings that are for sale.
And I might have a black carpet.
I did this to my old black twinny too, I like the black but I've got red interior now which I don't like as much.
I'll get the wheels (17" tele's) powder coated and I have a perfect condition centre console and tunnel from another car to put on mine.
I've just sent off for a load of fabric samples for re-covering very the headlining and keeping an eye out for some black visors on eBay. I've got a new interior to fit so may swap the carpet when the seats are out. Torn between red and black at the moment but as ever mechanical work takes priority over cosmetics and I've got engine oil & filter, gearbox oil and 5 litres of paraflu on their way, new front shocks plus Eibachs in the garage and 4 calipers away being sand blasted...

Interested in the black carpet if you do have a set for sale. Never seen a black roof lining, got any pics of one fitted?

There are some pics on Squadra 916 if you find PKR's thread on re-covering the headlining.

Flushed the engine with an oil additive then drained the oil and refilled. New wiper blades and topped up the antifreeze/coolant after draining and flushing yesterday. Extra chuffed as I actually used not one but two of the bits I've had sat in the garage for years that I bought because "they might come in useful one day" :hehe:

Managed to get an original Cup front spoiler. Needs a bit of work before fitting but project Tazza Nera will soon be starting... just need to find a pair of wings and sills.

Got my cup wings finished this weekend and the cup side skirts are prepped ready for painting next weekend.
I'll put pictures on here next weekend
Where did you get them from? I've got an original front spoiler last week that needs a bit of TLC, fibreglass and filler, just need the wings and skirts to go with.

Speaking from bitter experience and expense I personally would avoid these replica kits off eBay. They are really badly fitting and my front splitter took an age for the body shop to fit it properly.

Save your money, be patient and wait for an OEM set to come up !
My best guess is that they will need a lot of work to fit them properly as it looks like you have to cut your own holes for mounting so it might need a body shop to align it all.

I can't knock it though as I've never seen this fibreglass version physically
Thanks for the advice. It's taken a while to find one but I've got an original front spoiler so hopefully will be able to get the sills land wings.

Finally got round to removing the glass from both headlights and cleaned them including removing the family of spiders that died of old age in the driver's side and all associated cobwebs etc. Haven't tried them at night yet but hopefully I'll actually be able to see where I'm going in the dark now. Definitely look better than before.

Is that the unit that adds a boot release button function?
That needs a different ECU that doesn't cost that much more than getting the original fixed if it goes wrong and a relay plus the new fobs that come with 2 buttons instead of the usual one. The new ECU plugs straight in where the old one is so fitting is a 5 minute job. Wiring in the relay for opening the boot took me a bit longer but that was only because the instructions were a bit confusing but after a bit of head scratching and bad language I got it sussed and it is actually an easy straight forward job. Now I've done it I don't know how I managed before using the key or the glove box switch.

Well, not today but last weekend if finished up my carbon seat trim. In my opinion a terrific job!

and no it isn't a sticker but real carbon finished in satin gloss. :hehe:
Looks really good. How hard is it to do?

Well it isn't easy to do because of the rather "stiff" nature of the carbon ply. The first one (driver side) I draped the carbon over the plastic molding but you just can't get the narrow edges nicely done. The rest have been made with the use of a vacuum bag which works pretty good actually. But most of the time went to the finishing of the parts (sanding, Pu resin, sanding, clear spray paint, etc).

It took quite a while, also due to the fact that I first finished them of in high gloss which I didn't like. I'm planning to do the bigger ones also but than I have to take the seats out. Not a fun job to do with the heavy electrics...
Thanks. Top job.

Went out to adopt a brother/sister for my GTV but alas it wasn't to be so still looking for a CF3 engined Twinnie Spider in either black, silver, gunmetal grey or Proteo red (or Zoe yellow but highly unlikely on my budget) with black interior for about £2k.

6. Don't waste your time on forums looking for help unless it is to research a fault, if you are lucky the 'fix' will still be valid in respect of a certain part from a certain place, if you are unlucky you'll have to be creative, i.e. make your own mould and cast say, a rubber door strip for a Spider.
Sorry but speaking from personal experience, you could not be more wrong. The patience, understanding and knowledge on here is immense. I have had my car towed home, posted a description on here and been back on the road in hours. I have had offers of help or the loan of tools. Any fault you have, someone else will have seen and be able to help.

My car would not be on the road without help from the likes of (in no particular order) Brad, Joey, Henrick, PKR, Clive, Danny, Gaz, Diego and many many others. Thank you all for your help and apologies to all I have missed.

Fitted a new head unit and speakers to replace the original Alfa ones that were falling apart. Sounds much better and while I had the centre console silver bit off replaced the temp/clock/fuel gauges with a spare set I had in the garage... yaaaaaay for only the third time in over 16 years I have a temp gauge that works. Just over 90 in town, just under on the open road.

Just need to wait until I gets dark to make sure it all lights up as it should and waiting to see if the radio drains the battery over night. In the meantime it's beer o'clock in the Nelly household!!!
