Soooooo......
MOT have been done, my beautiful Rossa is back on the road.
Full list of works been:
Done Oil change with all filters(oil, air, cabin, fuel) while waiting for the bushings.
Replaced worn Bushings.
Replaced both front brake hoses.
Inspected,re-greased and secured CV boot.
Replaced both rear indicator light bulbs.

After ive done all that, i totally understand why people say, they hate doing car works while laying down on their back haha,.
It was a tough job, but Goal was Greater than a Pain. Worth it.
Actually i would do anything for My Alfa 😁

Next job on my list is "Gearbox Oil Change".
I can guarantee it hasn't been changed since 2007.
I hope i am wrong, but what i have learnt in the past, no one do change it on regular basis, or every certain period.
When i went to local garage near my house "Watling Tyres" , ive asked if i could have Gearbox oil changed, that was on my 1st Alfa 3 years ago, they were shocked, and never heard anyone asking for sucha thing, i had to explain them how to do it LoL and WHY its important.
Not surprised why Gearboxes fail often.

When my GearBox failed, and guys rebuilt it, they did say, do regular oil changes, dont just leave it out.
Its a must.
M32 are great Gbs, but only if looked after.

Had the power steering reservoir changed in the vein hope that it would sort out the power steering groan and judder on full lock…..it didn’t
So that’s high pressure hose repaired, fluid changed from red to green and back to red again and reservoir replaced, still noisy

Fitted new 115 size battery. Starts instantly now even when well below freezing. The old one was only 4 years old but I think I let it go flat too many times during COVID (and I only use it one or twice a week since) and that shortened its life.
Strangely its had the miles flashing for a while from when it just started with a really flat battery.....normally that means I have to do a Proxy alignment.....but as soon as the new battery was in it went away....odd. I did not think you could reset it just by disconnecting the battery.....
Next thing to do is give it a good check over for the MOT in a few weeks.....it can get above freezing before I do that!!

You are correct, I don't think you can reset the brinking odometer by disconnecting the battery, in fact I think it's set, or not, each time you boot up the car. Not sure why but a good battery does seem to avoid it happening. If I don't use mine much or only do very short journeys, I get it from that dreadful blue and me box. A drive and leave it for 5 then restart and it's gone.

My gear knob top plate was looking quite sorry for its self, so I fitted a genuine alfa replacement
Before
Car Gear shift Automotive design Steering part Vehicle

Replacement
Outerwear Azure Textile Sleeve Jersey

Car White Motor vehicle Automotive design Vehicle

Also, I thought I would treat the car to a new cabin air filter. Seeing the state of the old one made me very glad I did!

Next to the new one
Rectangle Wood Mesh Solar energy Grille

Hood Automotive lighting Grille Automotive exterior Trunk

Next thing to do next week, fit new windscreen wipers, and rear wiper too, which has started to tear! Also, on Monday, I'll be getting a new set of Michelin PS5 fitted, getting rid of the acceleras on the rear, and Nakangs on the front!

Good to see someone who appreciates good tires can't understand why owners choose to put cheap/ crap tires on? That's the only thing keeping you on the " black stuff"
Agreed there! Even though its not the fastest at 170hp, the tyres really have transformed how the car drives and feels too. I really didn't like the feeling of 2 different makes, front and back. Certainly didn't inspire confidence in the rain we've been having!

Well, that went as well as could be expected!! I wanted to get some wide lights to match the white light of the Xenons, so popped to Halfords. I picked up some 501 LEDs and some ultra white filament ones just incase.

Drivers side is not too bad to do, I popped that LED in, and noticed it was a lightly lit up even though the engine was off, i wondered if this was residual charge, I thought I would try the passenger side to see if it was the same, I managed to get the cover off, and plugged the LED in, this one wasnt lit up.. I was about to plug in in, when it fell into the light unit (not the lens unit luckily) It's a shame, as the drivers side one looked great next to the Xenon lights.

I then tried the Ultra white filament one, which are actually more orange than the ones that were in before. All in all, a waste off 45 minutes, and it was raining, and I managed to spill double cream in the fridge when I came back in .......

I have ordered some new fog lights as the current ones don't look good at all, I hope that's streight forward!!

KBO James,
Some new fogs really help to cheer up the front end, you don't realise just how much until you've fitted some new shiny ones. The trick is a thin piece of plastic to slide between the black trim and the bumper to pop the retaining clips without damaging the paint
