As title says, what are the black plastic things on the outside of each footwell? I took the cover off one and it is an electrical component with what feels like a plunger/primer in the top. I am just curious but does anyone know what they are?

I thought I'd heard somewhere that they were fuel cut-off valves, and the plunger was the reset button. Apparently it's good to know because they're well-placed for a kicking and occassionally get tripped accidentally as a result!

However, this is only something I foggily recall reading and is not first-hand by any means - hopefully someone who *really* knows can update us both! :)

Designed to cut off the power/fuel in the event of impact. Safety thing but good to know where it is in case of future problems.

Took me forever to figure it out on my old Audi
