Chez Chris983, you can't mistake the great smell of Brut/Denim/Old Spice (BTCC ALFA sponsor so OK)/Lynx/etc/etc.

Will there be a jumper or tie and hankerchief set too?

1) The fact that we all (supposedly) have to plan for it weeks ahead.
2) In the three weeks leading up to it everyday the supermarkets are full of people panic buying.
3) It starts in November when, in fact, it should start on 24 December.
4) People don't realise that you can buy all of the food you need on Christmas Eve. - This year the shops re-open Boxing Day.
5) It is effectively over in 24/48 hours so - why spend so much effort on it?
6) That even as adults in their 20's/30's one's children still think it is your responsibility - when is it their turn to organise it?
7) Bah Humbug.

Having all of the relatives over for dinner. We don't see half of them all year and then they all turn up on Xmas day.

Has anyone else noticed that if you go to the pub on christmas day, all of the men are wearing new jumpers? Then at the end of the day when very happy and drunk, they say "Well.. as long as the kids enjoy it".

We used to get a card sent to our house every year wishing the old owners a happy xmas problem is we got this card sent for well over 15 years so just proved that they did not speak to each other. I work in retail and the people who come in you would think they were going to mars by the amount of crap they buy

1. I hate all the commercialism.
2. People are encouraged to spend more than they can afford, usually on credit cards, by unscrupulous advertising. :tut: I guess you could say that we should resist but the advertising folk have become pretty devious in their campaigns creating feelings of guilt for not spending
3. As Paul says there is no need to plan weeks in advance - it's only one day! The amount of post Christmas waste is scandalous!
4. Why wait for Christmas to contact/see people. If they matter to you speak to them in June!

Christmas itself. It ahs lost it's true meaning over many many years. Not being a Christian myself (but of Christian upbringing) I still hold some of the values that Christmas carries. But far too many people see it as a chance to get presents compared to the fact that it is about spending time with those you love and revelling in the company of others.

Well said, kinda what I was going to say. I am not religious, but feel insulted about religious attitude when for most Christmas has pretty much just become a commercial event.

Indeed. I'm Wiccan, but like I said, still hold some of the Christian morals, but purely from being a decent person who isn't all about material wealth.

This is not PaulR

Someone is masquerading as Paul

The smilie is a give away ;)
Seriously - thank you - obviously that was not me.

I have reported it.

I find it disturbing that someone would try to pass themselves off as me.

SMILIES (SMILEYS) - Heaven forfend.
