So yesterday ( Sat) after very little sleep due to nerves and my daughter i set off at 6am in my lovely chevrolet lacceti to go pick up my new 166 ts.

on the way up myself and a friend decided to run through all the possible scenarios of what could happen when i got there and the journey home. This was supposed to make me feel less nervous about buying a car completely blind but all it really did was make me worse.

Some of these were would the 166 be a dog when i get there and what id do if it was and what if its just a scam to get me there and rob me. Anyway i adventually got to Halifax and dumped the chevrolet off at enterprise who gave me a lift to see my 166.

Got there met a really nice bloke and saw the car all i can say is
WOW i love it. leather is in really good condition as is the body work although there are a couple of small battle scars that have been poorly repaired and some faded paint on the bootlid and bonet. All of this is only noticeable close up.

Engine wise it seems pretty sweet. It will need a new variator at some point but it was serviced at end of sept so i i have a good 10,000 miles to go yet.

I then drove it 250 miles home without any issues at all. There seems to be a bit of road noise at speed but otherwise its all ok. I must say it drives very well good prescise handling nice turn of speed and tracking seems good.

A couple of small issues when pressing on the breaks at speed there seems to be a little vibration is this normal?

Also after the drive there was a two drips of water coming from beneath the engine when i first stopped. Although this isnt happening now. Maybee the aircon?

So i think ive bored you enough but just wanted to say how happy i am with it. One of the nicest cars ive owned and i prefer it to my jeep commander i just wrote off as it was not only £29,000 cheaper but a lovely car as well.

Glad to hear you're happy. :D

The two drips of water are more than likely the aircon, yes. Test by turning it off (ECON button on ICS) and go for a drive.

Vibrating brakes could indicate that your pads are low, or maybe warped disks. When checking your pads, give the calipers a good clean up as well.
