Put down a deposit on a Polo TDI. Sure, not as exciting as the 147, but should be a lot more economical and reliable.

Almost regretting the choice, but, as I will be doing 75 miles a day I know that diesel economy and VW reliability is the way to go.

Was painful putting in Autotrader - already have a viewer lined up, only been online for 2 hours!

Hopefully he/she won't have read your tales of suspension woe on here ;)

Sorry to hear you have decided to sell, sounds like your bella would have tried the patience of even the most enthusiastic alfisti.

Good luck with the VW

:tut: I'm sorry to inform you that Vw Polo is not more reliable than alfa 147.Only more economic and parts maybe cheaper. A much better choice would have been the diesel 147...I'm sorry for your awkard choice. The Golf would have been an acceptable alternative ...

Do you think we'll get the new owner of his 147 on here trying to get advice on steering probs!
I hope not, cash is already on the new car which I collect tomorrow!

In fairness, the specialist could not see anything wrong, and things are tight as he gave it a good prod. Also flew through the MOT. Whether it was the valve not kicking in correctly or a problem with the column I could not say, it was fine around town but vague above 60 on the motorway which scared me.

Looking forward to 62 MPG with German reliability :)

I still have my Eunos Roadster, so will still be out to play on the roads in the summer. Now, that will be cool, cruising up the M56 on a baking hot day topless!
