I don't have a light on the dashing saying I've got water in fuel, but Fiat ECU Scan says I do??

Untitled-3.jpg

also when I run the "activate water in fuel light" test with FES nothing happens ...

... I presume therefore I have 2 problems

1. I've got water in the fuel somehow??
2. My water in fuel light doesn't work??

Could someone please confirm that I'm correct (and to fix the water in fuel I just need to replace the fuel filter ... or can it just be emptied??? and re-attached??)

The water sensors that go in the bottom of the fuel filters are notoriously dodgy, so you might not necessarily have water in your fuel. But it can't hurt to change the fuel filter. I can't think what the water in fuel light looks like, I was under the impression it just came up as a warning on the info centre. I can't remember ever seeing the light on any of my 2.4s.

I did go through a stonking great big "puddle" (flood) and the splash pretty much covered the entire car, so I might just pull the sensors off and give them a bit of a dry/clean then

I wouldn't worry about it Chris. FES has been telling me the same thing for 2 years. I've changes the fuel filter a couple times over that time. It doesn't make a bit of differance.

I had that on my old 2.4. It stopped dead after a fill in Belgium. Alfa specialist in NL changed the crank sensor but it stopped again. Changed the fuel filter and brimmed the tank and it was then fine.
