imo, no radio came with the car from factory, this was always a dealer installed unit.
It is possible they chose between a couple of models. In the USA it was generally between Clarion or Fujitzu
The car came delivered from Italy with this particular blanking plate (often not put back in the car by the dealer who fitted it, either:()

i think the blanking plate route is probably the best way to go, I'm at the stage of gathering parts and looking at possibilities, my suspicion is that this car will require more work that expected, but then again this is not my first Alfa so i shouldn't be surprised.

I can probably help with some bits. I think I saw elsewhere you are after an expansion tank. If your car is LHD then I have a tank available. I'm near Harlow, Essex, where are you?

I’m near Winchester in Hampshire, I managed to get an Alfa 33 tank which was used for many of the conversions, mine currently has what i think is a Chinese tank made from Aluminum.
Wanted to start and get a few of the rarer parts together, the interior will need a complete refurb, i thought a radio and an original type document holder would be nice additions. If you have any other parts you think i may need i would be interested,

It’ll fit only if he relocates it to the front, where the coil sits
But I think he’s going for the alfasud/33 tank (which was used by most rhd converters) which sits up by the booster on rhd
Odd contraptions these conversions 😜

Yes my current tank is I think a Chinese aluminium thing, doesn’t look the part. I have gone for the 33 tank and will keep it up by the brake servo. I suspect the servo will need replacement as the brakes work but the pedal feel is awful.

Have you done some simple tests? Pump the brake pedal several times then hold it down… then start the car…. Does pedal go down a little? If yes that’s a good sign
If not or if it slightly pushed your foot up then look for a vacuum pipe tear or bad one way valve
Another simple first test….When car has been idling a bit, remove the servo vacuum hose from the plenum….is there a pop like it was holding vacuum?
