For the people who remember the guess the problem thread well ive got a nice update :)

After the car being at the real mechanic for 3 days straight, I finally got her back about an hour ago and not one rattle from her now
No vibrations and no bouncy ride.

In short these are the repairs I had carried out:

1) ARB bushes replaced (first time since i bought the car 2 years ago
2) new front and rear stabilizers as the car was swaying on light braking
3) New Bilstein shock absorbers and coils
4) New track rod ends
5) New Driveshaft with new CV joints (this is what was causing the vibrations - had completely cracked through)

Result: She feels brand new

I prefer doing everything in one hit, the feel-good feeling of having a properly sorted car outweighs the cost. Just replacing stuff as it wears out usually means you are always driving something that's far from being as good as it can be. Usually ends up saving you money too as there's good labour savings doing it all at once.

Well lets just say that my "sitting region" hurts a lot :cheese:

Nah honestly in total i paid roughly 700e for everything, not a bad price considering the work and parts involved.

couldnt agree more. Its just a pleasure to drive now and bumps etc are just merely a little challenge whereas a week ago it felt like id just driven over a mine.
Mechanic told me that the springs had actually split in 2 on both sides so it was just bouncing on the shocks which were also knackered so it could have been a bad accident if he hadnt spotted it.

 That's pretty much my shopping list for the next jobs on mine! The clanking, banging and squeaking from the various bits of front and rear suspension can get a bit wearing on urban roads full of speed-humps and potholes. The only extra I was pondering was a front upper strut brace from OMP across the shocker turrets. Enjoy the grip, give it a good thrashing!:)

have you had tracking done front and rear mr happy chappie
Oi my sex life is not up for discussion

Cheers lads im well chuffed with the outcome, even took it to a bit of a bumpy road just to check out the pure quality of the job, Those Bilsteins are very good, soak up anything thrown at it!

And I thought the worst roads in Ireland were in Kerry.....guess not.
tbh the car has had many trips to the mainland since i bought it and has gone as far north as Estonia and as far south as Albania so its suspension has gone through a rough amount of roads and mileage.
