I've got this damn paranoia about my battery going flat and constantly keep checking the voltmeter display on my headunit while I'm stopped or in traffic, and this go me thinking: what's the most discrete way to put a voltmeter in the cockpit?

My Garmin ecoRoute shows it on the GPS. It is one of a number of readings that can be displayed, there will be dongles that will send readings to your mobile 'phone using suitable apps.

As my GTV tends to spend a lot of time garaged this time of year I bought one of these (eBay) image.jpeg and it was only £16. Gives many different types of readings and was so simple to set up. So you could try one even if only as an experiment.
