Dunno' but someone will no doubt. VGIS, variable geometry induction system, VGR variable gas recirculation? See, told you I'm just guessing, without a clue.:(:

VGT = Variable Geometry Turbo.

If you need a replacement turbo, your best bet is an exchange direct from Alfa.

overboost module is what alfa call it, around 35quid give or take.
Think its an alfa only part, its not a bosch unit.

Pierburg make VGT solenoid
same manufacturer makes EGR valve for Alfas
what can I say: rock solid German technology. :lol:

Aha! thanks for the explanation, David C. :): Modern turbo technology leaves me lost. Guess that's the moveable vane type they have developed?:):
