Occasionally I get vdc sensor failure and motor control system failure warnings on my 2.0jts gt.

The car drives perfectly normally has always been serviced. It has been back to dealer three times yet each time they tell me no faults were logged!?

Usually the fault clears if I leave the car for an hour or so. Although when the motor fail comes up I have limited performance until I restart.

Any suggestions?

found the problem. It seems the steering wheel sensor, which is in the indicator/lights stalk has a fault and therefore can not be read by the traction control/ABS system meaning I get a default warning every time I switch on. It seems when the defalt triangle appears the traction control is not activated so it is safe to drive. The problem is now I need a new lights/inicator switch/stalk! regards romanchariot.

What warning messages did you get? I get VDC sensor failure followed immediately by motor control system failure, I then get limited revs until I restart... but the message persist of a day or so...

Got exactly the same problem "Control system failure" the car drives perfect but the radiator goes on high revs all the time for a short period of time, then all goes fine again but the error persists, randomly it disappears and days or weeks later it comes again...

My problem was thought to be a fault with the steering wheel sensor which is located in the indicator/light switch stalk. I eventually bought a new switch but fault was rectified be reprogramming the sensor with the main computer [wrong angle] or something. Its great that it’s now working fine but I am stuck with the new indicator/light switch [including air-bag and vdc sensors], which I paid £292.94. If anyone wants one cheap its still in the box with receipt [red tag untouched], regards Roman.

just as an FYI, I had a similar issue, only that I got a few other messages as well including Selespeed, number plate light, immobilizer error etc, all happened now and then, then fiddled with the fuse box and it got worse, especially when going over a bump. cleaned the fuse connections and the plugs going into the bottom of the box, all sorted.
