Well my clutch biting point has now reached the top of the pedal after 85k from new so it needs a new one.

Unfortunately the cost of this is around £1K, I wouldn't have a problem with this normally but my girlfriend revealed she doesn't feel safe in the car. I suspect its because in comparison to the 156 I had before its very noisy, the seats dont hold you so she gets flung about on the corners, and its very cramped.

I suspect that this is the moment I take my £1K clutchmoney and use it as a deposit on something a bit more substantial and find some way of getting rid of the GTV. Frustratingly I had the belts done only a few months ago, but I won't get much for the car because cosmetically it needs a fair amount of attention.

If you want rid of the car then you may as well sell it before doing the clutch. But a clutch does not cost £1k, we do them for £550 inc VAT supplied & fitted. Perhaps this may affect your decision to keep the car.

Can't say for certain til you've got it apart. We've got a used one in stock with only minor play, or you can pgrade to GTA clutch & flywheel for £700 inc VAT.

Don't forget you must Q2 it at the same time

I'm going to need a clutch soon-ish. What's the advantage of a GTA clutch & flywheel over standard???

Lighter mass basically, so it spins up faster (allows the engine to increase in revs faster). Also cheaper than a replacement dual mass flywheel if your car needs one.
