Changing the clutch on my V6 soon. Just wondering if there is anything else that is recommended to do at the same time that I may not know about. Its a 6 speed box by the way. Also somewhat alarming, its making a slightly loud ticking noise when the engine is running which is clutch related, because when I press the clutch pedal slightly, the noise goes away. Any thoughts guys?

it was already in when i bought it, i just didnt realise :lol:

dont think it has precats, looks like it has normal manifolds

Just swap the flywheel over then and use a GTA clutch.

The DMF is about 14kg compared to the solid at 8kg

I think you could get it for less than that.
I got a 2nd hand flywheel from a 2.5 for £50 and about £25-30 to get it cleaned up and skimmed. (make sure you get the shorter bolts with it)
GTA clutch is about £110 I think, I'll have to check my bills...

they are very tempting but I need deeper pockets for those

I paid £125 for my clutch but was part of a deal, cheapest I can see is £150 on ebay.
It's just up to you whether you want a new flywheel or go for the hassle of 2nd hand....

well if a 2nd hand flywheel plus refurb and a GTA clutch kit is gonna be around £200ish i think i will go that route

fitting this today (tuesday), i ended up buying a brand new GTA clutch kit and flywheel from Gus.

discussed the front pipes, thats next on the to do list

Yes. it seems to rev a little more freely and it feels like its ready to get up and go at any time, as soon as you put your foot down.

i know it hasnt improved the torque but it feels as though it has. if you get me :lol:

oh and the GTA clutch has a little more bite to it too and the pedal weight is half of what it was previously. the whole kit was a worthwhile mod anyway :thumbs:

If mine hadn't already had a new clutch just before I bought it I would have done the mod.

I hear the V6 also has a damper in the hydraulic line and removing that can also make the clutch lighter.

Had your clutch gone heavy beforehand or is the new one simply lighter than standard?

I wouldn't say mine was very heavy but it is certainly heavier than my Fiat Coupe was.
