Not used my car for a week...as often happens now we have more company vehicles. Started instantly as usual....but went straight to tuner. I always have 8 gig USB stick in there that I leave on random play that fires up as soon as I start her up. I tried selecting the stick from the SRC button on the steering wheel...nothing...and I tried selecting it from the headunit....nothing. Its like its not plugged in. Last time this happened the USB stick had somehow gone corrupt and has lost about 800 tracks of music so easy to fix...so i tested it on my laptop and PC....played fine. Any ideas????

Hi

On mine the operation is erratic. I think what I do is to start the car and have the CD playing, then pull out the stick - then after a wait plug it back in. The stick takes over.

After that when ever I start up the stick plays, if I press CD button the display reads CD READING and the stick plays again (!!) but pressing CD gaian gets you back to the CD. Weird.....

I got there by trying every way of fiddling - there is no logic but I suppose it is bacause the USB was essentially an after thought!

Grrrr

Last night I removed my CD and the USB stick. This morning I put back a reprogrammed USB stick and I couldn't get the 'Media Player' to work. No amount of inserting and re-inserting worked (even though it had before.....) But in a chimpanzee moment of exasperated grape seeking annoyance I pressed the CD eject button (twice for some reason, once was probably enough) and Voila the Media Player started and the USB stick played!

As it was a random act I can't remember what led up to it. The USB was in place and I think the radio was going. I have more faith in raising the devil than I do in repeating this action sucessfully next time but it may be 'worth a try' and 'what have you got to lose'?

Cheers

I decided to try and get BT music working rather than fiddling with USB.

First I bought this but it didnt work OOTB, has no instructions and I didnt want to go splicing wires for its power. Lucky it was cheap as it was a waste

Then I bought this, which worked perfectly. Took 2 mins to install and now I can forget my USB music.
