As per title. Still trying to get to the bottom of my O/S suspension knocking, think it now might be the strut or upper strut mount.

I've got it up in the air and grabbing the bottom of the strut just below the coil, pulling back-and-forth there is definite movement and I can feel a knock... so, the strut's now out.

I recently replaced the upper wishbones and thought maybe the OS wishbone had worked loose, or I hadn't tightened it up enough. So, now the strut's out and the upper wishone is hanging, if I now move the wishbone up and down should the bush remain still and the wishbone rotate around the bush, or does the wishbone and bush rotate around the bolt?

All the best

Well, think I've answered my own question, I've done that up as tight as it's going to go and the wishbone and bush rotate around the bolt.

As for the strut I took it down to my Indie and buzzed the top mount nut with an air impact gun, it's a tight as is going to go. Put it all back together and there's a definite knock when grabbing the strut below the coil and yanking on it. The N/S doesn't do this. I don't know whether it's the shock/damper or the upper mount.

Ah well, the 84K service and MOT is due in a couple of weeks, I might just order a couple of shocks and get him to fit them, I ain't got the tools to tackle that job.
