I went to view another GT today and was taking my time looking at it when I realised that the windows didn't have matching serial codes all round.
The 4 side windows all matched but the back and front were different but matched each other. So there were 2 different codes: one for all the side windows and one for the front and rear windows.
Is this right or should they all match?

Anyway, I'm not buying it as I didn't trust the dealer as he had told me 2 different stories about why he had the car! He had also written in the service book himself that the cambelt had been done although when asked for proof he had none and told me that the previous owner had told him it had been done!

You mean the date? If its older than the car its not a problem.. its from an older batch. If its newer it means it has been changed for whatever reason.

I think I am right in saying that the front/rear screen is the VIN but the side windows are marked with a code issued by the International Security Register thing that Alfa subscribes to so,no, they don't all match.

Full marks for observance though!
