Past 2 weeks my shifter on my 156 2003 has been acting a bit weird. When I just start the car up it is completely fine, but once the car warms up (about 10 minutes) the gear stick becomes harder to move. Specifically when moving horizontally (vertically is completely fine). I mostly notice this when shifting from 5th to 4th.

But today it is completely refusing to move horizontally at all. It is completely stuck and you can only access 1st and 2nd. Which is a bit of a problem when I need to access reverse to get it out of the driveway :biglaugh:

Any ideas if this is a common problem, or if it could be an easy fix?

I did this one myself a couple of days ago , very easy fix. One point to make is that when I saw the original bushes in place they looked fine but replacing them fixed the problem. Also be sure to use silicone grease for the plastic bushes.
