We all know that you can get big brake kits for the 155 from Brembo, tarox, Move-it etc but how do you go about getting caliper carriers made for you once you have chosen a (suitable) pair of stoppers?

no wrinx carriers...you could talk nicely to your local engineer they would make up some for you if you know the dimensions.

Is there some nice maths to find out the correct size or is it a suck it & see kind of thing once you have the disc & carrier in your hand?

firstly calpiers are either fitted as leading or trailing they cant be swaped over..then you just need to make sure that the pads it uses fit the disc ok...most fiat/alfa/lancia are leading(they fit the front of the disc not the back)...or you could go for the volvo touring car set up and have two calipers on each disc....overkill.!!!!
