I read on black circles that the new tyre rating system will "make choosing your new tyres simple".....does it hell!

I'm looking for tyres for my new 18" alloys and rather than just pick one based on budget/brand/hard or soft, I'm finding myself obsessing about fuel effiecncy, wet grip and noise. Take for example Pirelli p zeros. They score a B for grip but an E for fuel effiecncy and 72dbs but a westlake (Chinese I think) scores C in both and 69db but has bad reviews.

I'm completely at a loss!

Goodyear EfficientGrip plus (or performance?) are the ones I have my eyes on when these PZeros run out...

I took a liking to the P7 cinturatos on my G, after they bedded in/lost their gel coat. no visible wear yet after 6k miles, but when the time comes to change I'll give special attention to the P7 cinturato blue which is the improved P7.

They score B-A-72 in 225/40R18 btw...
