Well I had inspiration looking at a v6 engine bay a while ago and the thing that stood out was those chrome inlet tubes so having a spare inlet plenum and manifold it got the artistic side of me thinking.
So I have started to trim out the webbing in the castings and go for a sweeping pipe look not seen anyone else try this so I like to be original with my ideas.
What's the consensus should have it finished tomorrow night hopefully will put some more pics up.
There is a significant difference in the bores matching where the manifold joins the plunum.

All in all im pretty happy with the results so far still got some elbow grease to throw at it but it should look rather nice when on the car.
Im having an engine swap in August at AUTOCASA in Coventry so im giving Enzo the owner some nice parts to put in while hes doing the swap.
My recent engine rebuild and gearbox rebuild are going in cant wait to see how it runs and looks.

Dont think im going to polish it i really like the matt look.
Did think of powder coat but i like its current look.
Have port matched the inlet manifold gasket to the manifold as it was horrendous same goes to the joins between the plenum and manifold used one of the rubber pipe joints as a template as this was also not inline.
So many horses to be had just from poor casting and finishing off.

Damnation and bother, got excited, rushed out to my Bella, popped the bonnet and found...


My Spider, a CF3 has a plastic inlet manifold.
Yeah mine too.

Thought about spraying it chrome.

Could fit the old manifold but you loose the variable intake modulation of the CF3

Have you thought about fitting a ptfe gasket along side it??

Very popular mod on jap cars, has better thermal barrier properties than the normal gasket so helps reduce heat transfer from the head to the inlet.

I has a custom one made for my 406 v6 and also one to go between the tb and inlet!!

Remember the cooler the air the denser it is thus the bigger the bang

Not heard about that swampy but will look into it.
I was thinking that the air should be able to flow alot easier around it now.
Maybe that's the idea of the rubber couplings to isolate the heat from the plenum

Well all done all fitted to my completely rebuilt engine and gearbox looks really good still running everything in at the moment sounds lovely and rattle free
