Hi all

I am looking to replace the sump on my GTV V6. It appears I'll have to remove a section of the exhaust but there is also the power steering pipes in the way. Do these need to be removed or can they be moved out the way?

Thanks

I am 99% sure you are talking about the oil cooler pipes.
They have a reputation for being difficult to disconnect.

Yes you are correct, they are the oil cooler pipes, strange place for them so low to the ground. Do you know if they have to be removed to get the sump out?

I'd rather not move them if I don't have to!

Thanks

I don't believe the V6 sump is removable without first dropping the subframe.

I seem to remember something like that putting me off removing mine between cambelt changes

A V6 sump can be removed and replaced without taking the oil cooler pipes off, the bracket needs to be taken off to allow some movement, and obviously the exhaust needs to come off, but that's about it.
