Why on earth would I ever want a triple play pack? If I buy a blu ray, its because I want to watch it in high definition. Why oh why would I then choose to watch it on a standard dvd?

On top of this, there is digital copy. Why?

Really makes me mad, and its messing up my ocd collection on DVDs and blu rays.

Rant over.

Bloody hell, i was going to start a rant
about this (yet another :rolleyes) obvious rip-off by the
media industry.

This and regioning are really hacking me off these days.

Sometimes I think they deserve to get pirated.

Well, they don't seem to cost any more, so I don't get the rip-off angle.

And my bedroom TV isn't HD, so the DVD might come in handy.

And the digital copy allows me to put it on the phone, which might come in handy when trapped somewhere bored for an extended period.

Sometimes they are the only option in the shop.

I just fail to understand the point of a dvd copy when you have it on blu ray. Why would.you ever decide to watch it on a lesser format when you have just watched it in the best quality?

Have to agree, I have wondered the same thing thing. It's just a marketing ploy, but not a very good one.

What he said, I'm more likely to buy a bd with a Digital copy as I can easily take films on Hols to watch on plane on the iPad or iPhone.

:)

Just because you don't have a need for it doesn't mean others don't as well.

They definately cost more. Why should you have to pay more to
have multiple "copies"? Rip off.

If there was no regioning you would end up with the most edited down version so one disc could be sold in all regions. Think what the Arab world is like, and the fact that Disney kids shows have to be edited for their market, and thats what you would get.

Sorry i couldn't resist

Note: If you have an Amazon Prime account they give free streaming of
any film you buy on DVD/BD in the US. ;)

I'd be a hypocrite it I worked for a software company that
earns it's money from selling IP and then copying/downloading/pirating
films etc off the internet though, wouldn't I ?

;)

You're forced to buy some of them as the initial release is only in the
DVD/BD combo. They are about 5 Euros more than a BD only pack.

That's +5 for exactly the same content.

Remember when the media companies used to harp on about,
"You're not buying the CD/DVD/etc. You're paying for the content..." ?

Why should we pay again for the same content?

The only triple packs I have were about £10 as far as I remember. Pretty sure you couldn't get any Blu-Ray version of them for £5.
