Guys,

Been having a clear out and found my original switch I purchased from forum member JWQ all still in original packaging. If you are unaware of what this is, it is a gadget designed to splice into your asr switch and detect the car computer switch ASR on and then deactivate it for you.

A luxury for those of you with a 147 GTA and either a Quaife or Q2 differential so you don't have to do it yourself every time you start the car.

It's up for grabs for the princely sum of ÂŁ20 and you can either paypal me the wonga or give it me in person at NAD this coming weekend.

The pack includes all instructions for fitting and all bits and pieces required.

Cheers

Sean

P.S. I have another one of these that I bought off Joe (DrGTA) some time ago as I'd put this one away and couldn't find it, well I've found this one, but guess what I did with Joe's? That's right, put it away and now I can't find it :D if I do find it in the next few days this will turn into availability of two of these modules.

Tempting mate. It is annoying so most of the time asr is on as i forget

Have you got a 147 GTA now? I thought you had a 156 GTA, I think it only works on the 147

Oh right sorry yeah its a 156. Didn't realise it was 147 only.

I think it works on 156 as well. Me and yetyGT we got two pieces from JWG for my 147 and yety´s 156. I think he had little problems with the wire identification due to different colors than 147 but in the end he made it work. I will point out this thread to him for instructions how to mount it on 156 GTA.

I'll have it off you Sean, finding it a tad tiring after a while with always turning the ASR off

May I give you the money at NAD?

I would say it complicates the handling a bit.. the q2 is there to manage the power.. you don't need the car trying to cut the power to the wheels as well. Prob not detrimental to handling, but accel might be a bit worse. That's how I always read it anyway..

The simple way of explaining it I think would be that the ASR is trying to counteract what the Quaife or Q2 is trying to do, ASR off ftw

Only an issue when pressing on a bit then, as I presume asr only kicks in when traction starts to be lost, which happens at a later stage on q2/quaife equipped cars. Bit like the top gear style 'turn all the electronics off for a fast lap' scenario...
