Hi folks,

Just throwing this up for anybody that might interested at a bit short notice:

There is a track training day in Mondello on July 12th (Friday) from 09:30 - 13:00. Details of what is covered are here: Course Content | Track Day Training | Car Track Days | Track Days | Mondello Park

Then in the afternoon there is a regular track day from 14:00 until 17:30 with use of the full International circuit.

Ps: I'm in no way affiliated with Mondello but I will attending the track training day in the morning and then the open track in the afternoon if anybody on here is interested in doing this too. Unfortunately I won't be there in the GT (she's too pretty to be abused on the track :p ) but in the tree fiddy z!

If any of you are interested in doing this do let me know it'd be great to see some Italian metal there too :)

It's 50 euro for the track day training in the morning and 100 euro for the afternoon track day- you can do both or just one.

Normal pricing would be 120 euro for the afternoon session if you are paying on the day itself so 20 quid saving if you book in advance. So not a lot in total translated to pound sterling!

I've put my name down but will pay next week in advance to avail of the discount.

Thanks Rory it will be interesting to see how the machine from the land of the rising sun handles a track attack!

Dave- kick work to the side and come down for this!

Meant to write up on this. It was a fantastic day. I was only able to attend the morning training session.

I got to Mondello around 9:15am and saw a Honda S2000 parked outside the main gate. Pulled in and was chatting with him for a few mins before heading in. We drove in and parked behind the pitlane- there were another two S2000s, a convertible BMW M3, BMW 318, Ford Escort MK II, MK 5 Golf GTI, Mitsubishi EVO V and a Celica RWD 2.0 Turbo. Nice mix and these were all here for the training session. There was tea and coffee there so we grabbed a cup and went into the training classroom. There was a lot of pointers given out, what to expect on full track days etc, and in general just prepping us before we went out on track. We hit the track for our first run at 10:30am.

For the first run we were split into two groups. We were all given walkie talkie radios so we could hear the chief training instructor talk to us as he guided us around the track in the Mondello MX-5. We took it nice and slow at the start and there were cones placed on the track for us so we got a feel of when the correct time of when to turn into the apex. Each lap on the start finish straight, the first car in the group behind the MX-5 would pull into the right and let all the other cars pass letting at least each car to have the lead. The pace built up and after 6 laps we headed back for a cup and another classroom session. This session was headed by the instructor and he was answer more technical questions such as importance of tire pressures, oversteer and understeer etc...Found that very useful and interesting. After that back out on track for another 6 laps, much quicker pace. We then got about 30 mins free track time, which was great. The 350z handled great despite its pudgyness! The alfa would have been great out there too.

The track is quite technical, and is very hard on brakes and tyres. We were doing the session in circa 23-26 degrees so it was hot. I had the aircon on, but at every application of full acceleration, the ECU switches the aircon off to keep the power output up!

For 50 quid you can't go wrong. Most of the people there were newbies to the track and there was a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended

No training planned for August as of yet. They said to give them a call towards the end of the month and they might have something scheduled then.

Next pure open track day is looking like the 5th August Calendar | Mondello Park This would be about 185 quid for a full day or 100 for a half day.
