I've just had a look on eb spares web site and it looks like you can just buy the track rods, rather than the complete rack. http://www.ebspares.co.uk/alfa156/more.cfm?id=EB240

Anyone know how you go about changing these, is it a subrame out jobbie like the steering rack?! I just wondered if replacing these will tighten up my steering a bit as I'm now at 100k miles and things are a bit wobbley.

What are the symptons of track rods/steering rack going wrong?!

Cheers,

Mark

Hey Mark,

I had both of mine changed within a few k of each other. I don't know exactly how my mechanic changed them, but it musn't have been too difficult because he only charged me £15 each to fit them.

Wheel free off the ground, able to see the track rod ball joint clearly, left and right hand gripping the tyre opposite one another, then push/pull on the horizontal plane, any play that's evident means they require replacing. Factors stock them, Q&H unless my knowledge is out of date completely?:D:lol:
