i thought it wud be the ECU that sorted it out, but how can you tell if your engine has it fitted

the old JTD's use an EDC15, there are torque limiters in them, but I don't know about for different gears?

(just BTW, the old saab turbo's from 94> had limiters for 1st and 2nd gears, so the technology is not new)

Didn't know that, can the boost be altered for different gears?

Is it possible to remove 'overboost' or disable it?

I have no idea how the torque limiting is done, could be a boost limit or a fuel limit...

why not ask the question to Stephan of Squadra or Nigel from Angel? I'm sure these guys know best...

a remapper should be able to disable the overboost. or have it on continuous..

capping thew voltage on the map will cause it to be on continuous, but to remove/disable is pretty deep in the ecu parameters I think.

I heard that it is possible to buy the complete map translation (ie, what each bit means) for the TDi vag stuff, but it was about 4 grands worth.
Don't know how much truth is in that, but I doubt its worth any tuner buying similar for the JTD's (if it is true?)
