Hehe... have a look at Alfa Romeo Spider V6 2003 | Trade Me

I know the person who sold this (at the main NZ Alfa Romeo dealer)... and I know they weren't offering much of a discount (if any). It's summer, you see.

$32,990 is £15,884.69 at today's exchange rate.
Can you imagine what a phase-3 car might have sold for? :p

Remember they pay something like 100% tax on their cars from Europe so unless it's a Holden or some Jap Crap a car will always fetch proper money down under

Is that 100% on the value of the car over here or over there?

What I mean is, would it be worth taking one with you if you moved to Aus??

Australia is different to NZ - no strange taxes or import duties here!

The Spider cost about the same new as it did in the UK, $85,000 (exchange rate was nearly three-to-one then). However, most of our cars come to NZ as used imports (my yellow one was from Japan) so cost less, making it even more surprising that they retain much more resale value than in England.

Used imports aren't allowed in Australia so cars are even more expensive there (to protect the local industry).
