That is the question.

These are my winter wheels so I've been mucking about. Spent hours cleaning them up, getting rid of corrosion then sprayed them silver. Then sprayed them black. Then decided to add a stripe, etc. etc. . .

Anyway, they're staying black but I can't decide on the stripe. Too chavvy?

Bearing in mind they're on a dark blue metallic GT with red brake calipers. And yes, I know they'll look a bit too small at 16in. buy, hey ho. :)

I've been attracted by that style before, but I think too much on your car...

Your choice though :)

Do you have a good side shot of the car?

No, I like the stripe

P.S. Listening to anybody else's opinion is optional; I am always right :D

He did say they were winter wheels, presumably coming off in the Spring ;)

Yea, I still prefer the standard alloys but just trying to make the winter alloys look reasonable.

1of1: I've only got this shot from the side. Photoshop? Cheers.

Cheers 1of1. Great service!

I think that's slightly put me off the stripe tho . . .:(

So you've already painted the red line?

If so why not chuck it on the car and see how it looks?!
If you look closely you can see he's painted the ring on using paint

The stripe is actually a vinyl stick-on from ebay. Cost less than a fiver delivered (for all 4 wheels of course!) and only takes a few minutes to apply and seconds to remove if I don't like 'em!

With the weather changing as quickly as it is at the moment I might be putting them on sooner than I thought . . . :(

Looks a bit too much to me I'm afraid. Blue, black, red... doesn't know if it's coming or going!

Sorry :(

But it certainly saves swopping a full set of tyres onto your 'posh' rims if you have a spare set of rims sitting with winter tyres on. Regardless of what they are.

I think that's the point Jon :)

Yes, I have a spare set of winter wheels.. not with winter tyres mind you.. just 205/50x15 rather than 205/40x17 (hurts less when I hit a pot-hole). It's dead handy being able to just whip them on and off.

Those matt black wheels on your shiny dark blue will look a disaaaster darling. The red stripe slightly redeems them but please go to Halfrauds on the weekend and buy some dark silver paint and lacquer. The black finish will make a good primer. :D
