Nope, doesn't have to be.

I have a local garage do my routine servicing. A full going over inc. oil and cabin filters, with the CDA cleaned and a gearbox oil change costs £170. That includes a thorough going over and 4 wheel alignment, Brake strip and sort too. I provide the oil as I bought a huge volume and am slowly going through it.

Other than that, any expenditure has been by choice over the two and a bit years I've had mine. The big bills weren't strictly needed, bodywork and big brakes up front were a fair few quid.

Now saving up for cambelt and probay clutch at the end of 2014 when its 4 year anniversary comes round.

My full service cost me £70ish, cambelt change £300ish and rad change £50ish. Can be done if you get your hands dirty. Maintenance has been cheaper than the cars I actually work on

I'm starting to wish i bought a masser 3200, I'm sure the running costs and time spent at the garage wouldn't of been much different considering my low annual mileage.

Swap anybody?

You can spend big bucks on your GTA rather easy, if you like modding it and fitting upgrades etc then that's where a big chunk goes for me personally :)

i drive a maserati 3200 daily, and as long as you shop around for parts, and be careful as to who works on it they are cheap to run- they are actually pretty simple to work on too, i done the cam belt my self on mine while im not sure i would want to do one my self on a GTA!

so far, mine has proven to be 100% reliable, only thing its needed was a pair of lower wishbones and an intercooler was cracked (new parts are approx £1500) but while at auto italia brooklands there was a tv show called 'strippers: cars for cash' (google it if you care to know what its about) anyway, after some haggling (which they filmed by the way and might well be aired on tv lol) i managed to get the wishbones for £25 each (both dated stamped 2012 so basicly brand new) and the intercooler for £50! ha :cheese:

How long have you owned it for beau_147
i have had it a year, which may not seem long to some people, but iv been through approx 70 cars in the past 5 and half years, but i have kept the maser, it truly is a great car.

i did forgot to mention the alternator stopped charging, but that is something which could go on any car to be honest, and i paid £80 for a second hand one from a parts specialist and its only a 20 minute job to replace!

Now this is nice. I'm a Maserati noob...
I am getting more interested. I've never thought I'd be interested in a Maser, to be honest.

This is a good day, I've learnt something.

I've always wanted a QP but I had a go in a flappy paddle 4.2 the other day. The gearbox is a real deal breaker for me. I've never seen such a terrilble box :(. IMO if you are going to buy a masser it must be a manual. Been watching 3200's for a while now as well :D
