Not sure about a specialist but I spent just over a grand on the 147 GTA at a dealer before I sold it. That was the timing belt, auxiliary belt, tensioners, pulleys and water pump as well as a full service. That was with discounted parts and labour.

..thanks big john!

seems in engerland there are places doing deals for around £450.. would almost be worth taking a ferry trip from dublin at that price, plus you get a bit of a road trip thrown in :)

so i suppose belfast is somewhere between london and dublin then...

I'm not sure what the English places are doing for £450 as the parts alone for the GTA were about £500. One of the bolts holding on a pulley was a nightmare to get off too. Luckily they were able to get it out otherwise it would have been mega bucks.

Just the belt and variator? No pulleys, tensioners or water pump?

I bought all the parts myself and the mechanic fitted the new belt, tensioner idle pulleys and the waterpump for £100. He's based in Derry, let me know if you want his number
