TI - Why no silver window trim ?

Don't get me wrong i think the TI is a stunningly good looking car but I cannot understand why Alfa didn't put a silver trim around the windows like you seen on other premium versions of cars like the Audi S-line or the Jag XF....it really would be the finishing touch to the TI and stop the rubber trims looking so scruffy. Even on my 1 month old TI the horizontal rubber trim between the door and window looks weathered, i've tried some back to black to improve this but made no difference.

Anyone considered adding silver trim themselves ?

Mike.

funny that this thread came up.

i was looking at a black maserati gt the other day and noticed the chrome trim around the doors. really set the car off beautifully. just stunning.

was left thinking how great chrome window trim would look on a dark coloured brera or 159. alas not to be.

Because covering random parts of a car with chrome is so utterly naff, that people who do this:
Abomination
to a car think it's a good idea.

If you honestly think that adds to the look of a car, you need to sort yourself out... or go buy a lexus. :p :cheese:

Simons opinion can't be held against him in circumstances like this. He's a generally right-thinking fellow, but his feelings on wheel nut covers show he has an unhealthy obsession with chrome. :D

Looks good with chrome. I had a black Lancia Dedra years ago with chrome door handles and window trim - looked good and was always commented on.

Although chrome looks good I am not sure after market fit would be good enough for me - Better left as is I think! :(

The chrome trim looks quite nice, but it's the mirrors that bug me. I can't even remember which manufacturer first came up with this (Audi? Seat?) but I've always really disliked them. We're considering a Volvo C30 at the moment - not to replace the Brera  - and it comes with chrome mirror trims. First purchase will be some standard colour-matched items.

Just shows. Each to their own. Besides, once the VAG brigade had done it, it was all over for me.

At the end of the day, though, the 159 is a stunning car, especially in Ti trim.

It's all about being tasteful and subtle. Obviously we all have different views on what constitutes such things but IMHO, if one of the most gorgeous cars on the road, the Maserati GT can pull off chrome window trim with consumate style and grace, so can the best from Alfa.

That photoshop of the 159 ti doesn't look out of place at all. Actually complements the rest of the car beautifully.

We're not talking about outrageous "Barry Boy" bonnet scoops here or ridiculous spoilers. It's a subtle enhancement. Big difference I reckon.

Let the flaming begin.
