Hi guys and gals. Just wondering how to adjust the throttle cable on a 99 t.reg 2.0 t.spark. There seems to be a little slack in the cable where it comes out of the protective rubber sleeve and winds round the throttle body. Is it easier to sort from the driver footwell or in the engine bay?

There is only about 1/2 inch travel in the pedal to the carpet and the pedal itself seems a little loose.

Any advice on how to sort this out, what tools I need etc would be most welcome.

Many thanks in advance!! Graham k:thumbs:

1/16" movement in the cable up and down and you move the circlip on the throttle body to adjust.
Pliers are all you need!

Don't over adjust it because could snap the cable, best way to do it is

remove the circlip

get a apprentice to hold throttle to floor

pull back on the thottle cable cover near to were the circlip goes,

Then re fit circlip to nearist grove

to check get apprentice to push throttle right down and see if you can move butterfly valve open more,
