Hi there,

Looking to buy my first Alfa in the form of a new Giulietta:thumbs:

As a newbie to Alfa ownership, however, I’d really appreciate any advice that present owners can give me in terms of their practical experience before I take the plunge, especially:

  • Quality and reliability – how do you find the Giulietta stands up to everyday use – is it reliable or does it tend to need frequent dealer/specialist TLC? Also, for those who’ve already put a fair number of miles on the clock, does the car feel like it’s going be durable long-term? (I like to keep my cars for somewhat longer than the three years suggested by at least one other ‘premium’ manufacturer!)
  • Any recommendations as to the best franchised dealer /service agent in the South Gloucestershire / South Wales Borders region? (from the ARUK website, it looks like Bridgwater, Bristol, Cardiff and Cheltenham are the nearest).
Thanks!!

I've put 8500Kms on mine, on 200 hours of driving and I only had a minor issue (vibrating side mirror) that got fixed in less than 10 minutes at the dealer.

The roads here in Cyprus are extremely bad nowadays as the roads in the whole island are under construction. I actually expected the car to develop a few rattles (as my gf's Volvo C30 had) but so far its rock solid. I hope it will stay that way...

Hi

I've got one on order but have had loads of test drives and the car is great!

The Lookers in Cardiff are very good. Apparently they've sold more Giulietta's than any other dealer in the UK!

I have 28 000kms on my G. Its rattle free... Also had the vibrating side mirror issues. Was fixed in 10minutes. The more I drive the car, the more I enjoy it and its taking everything in its stride. Including the bad roads in SA.

To me the build quality matches that of the german cars it is competing with. It just looks a whole lot better...

Hi, I had the same thoughts myself before ordering my G, especially after all the negative comments you hear about Alfa's, but I can assure you, you will not be dissappointed if you go ahead and buy one. It handles so well and is a real head turner too. I've had mine now for nearly 4 weeks without a single problem. :)

Hi Borderer

If you visit Lookers in Cardiff ask for Wayne and tell him that Bob recommended him, he's a great guy and a Alfa nut which always helps and yes they are the top selling dealer in the UK:)

I have had 3 Alfas from Wayne and have had great service from all the departments

I got mine from Wessex Garages in Bristol. Very knowledgeable dealership and got a few freebies thrown in as well!
