Hi, I am thinking about getting a 2 litre 156, I have been thinking about a selespeed version, can someone tell me how the gear change operates, from a drivers point of view i mean, not in the technical way, do you have to lift your foot off the accelerator when changing up and down gears? what is the general opinion on this type of gearbox? I have had a manual 156 in the past and fount the gearbox lovely but fancy something different. What should I look out for when test driving?
Thanks!

im no expert but i do own a 156 selespeed and love it i dont like driving in city mode find the gear changes a little unpredictable but with the buttons its a great drive an as for drivers with a manual box saying theres are faster well i cant find anyone that can beat me yet lol

you ask about lifting of the pedal when you change gear i do tend to it makes the shift a little smoother i find,
but i wouldnt say you have to the best bit with driving the selespeed box is when you approach a round about an drop a gear listen to the engine note change the blip you get when droping a gear sounds awsome try getting the same sound from a manual gearbox

anyways if you local to grimsby you could always have ago in mine to make up your mind there will be no going back lol
