Hi all,

going to view a 08 1.9jtdm 159 ti tomorrow and I wanted to know a list of things I can check while there to give me the best chance of not purchasing a heap of ...****

- things to check while driving and stationary.

i.e. Noises from steering etc

Check the paint condition on the rear door and front of rear arches, also the bonnet.

Windscreen creak was an issue on earlier 159's (only had it on my 2007 one), it will be obvious.

Check tyre wear especially on the inner edges of the fronts.

Check handbrake travel and if it feels tight. Listen for knocking noises and brake squeals. Listen for whines from the gearbox also. Check that the clutch pedal returns fully to the top. Check for any hesitation from the engine. Other than clutch issues, gearbox issues, knocking noises, wishbones, brake calliper pins seizing, EGR, DPF, and excessive stone chipping issues (front bonnet, rear arches, front cill/arch) bad wheel alignment and a creaky windscreen (did I miss anything?) they are pretty solid cars.

Great Bravery and Determination in the face of horrifically bad manufacturing ;)

although we joke, just reading Mr Campbells threads have made me break out in a cold sweat....:(

Alfa's "special" recognition attached. It did make me snigger with just how pathetic a response it was.
