Dear Enthusiasts

I need to replace the thermostat on my 3.0 V6.

On Ebay there is a full unit, the thermostat integrated into the metal casing for £40:

Or, the thermostat on its own, for £8.50:

I have enquired with the supplier of the latter as to whether this can easily be fitted into the existing metal casing having removed the original thermostat but they don't know.

Please can anyone tell me if this can be done easily. I haven't removed the original yet.

I have replaced mine several months ago, but may have the old one still lying around in my garage. I will check tomorrow.

It is easy to change the thermostat in the existing metal casing, just some 'strong fingers' are needed to compress the old thermostat to remove it and then to compress the new one you so will be able fit it, but the thermostat you are linking to seems to be a wrong , the MAGNETI MARELLI part number 352021382000 is an thermostat for PEUGEOT/CITROEN (and many of the other part numbers refers to brake pads ), if the picture in the ad of the thermostat is correct then will it not fit the thermostat metal casing you have.
