Right now, Herbie Hancock - Chameleon from the Head Hunters Album.
Excellent choice!
Classic funky jazz album

I love the 'squelchy' bass sound, locked solid with Harvey Mason's drums

Goes well with Grover Washington Junior's "Mr Magic" :)

Soulive.

First stumbled across this band 5 or 6 years ago, bought some albums then saw them live at the Jazz Cafe a year or two ago and they were excellent.
This link is an HOUR of them live in Tokyo, so you can skip through to find a bit you might like :)

The drummer and keyboard player are brothers - check out the keyboardists left hand - that's the bass player  Family style rhythm section

Soulive - Live at Blue Note Tokyo (2009) - YouTube

(also this one's a studio recording with Chaka Khan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmRI_qY1zm4)

Pat Metheny...'As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls'. Superb album. 'September Fifteenth' is my favourite track.
