Imagine, if you will, a house on a hill, in an everyday, run of the mill, suburb. Imagine the outlook from the sofa in the front room, and the fact that the occasional glance out of the window is significantly met by the side elevation of the corner house on the other side of the road. It is a bit up from the house you are in. The elevation presents very little downstairs, but, and this is significant, a large bathroom window upstairs.

Imagine watching your favourite box set on the televisual machine, glancing out of the window, and copping for a distractingly shocking eyeful. Imagine if it happened most evenings. Furthermore, please allow yourself to render an image of an occupant who is female, about 30, attractive and triumphantly endowed.

Being British, one would imagine that any audience would be constitutionally wracked with dilemma.

1) One would wish to do the decent thing and warn the people in the house that they are on display in a way they may prefer to avoid; or

2) Benny Hill

What would you do?

Many, many years ago, a female neighbour to the flat we were renting at the time had blinds made from horizontal strips of some kind of reed/cane/bamboo. When it was dark outside and the lights were on inside you could see clearly through the blinds into the flat from the street.
I assumed the young lady doing the ironing in her bra and knickers by the window was unaware of this so I knocked on the door and informed her.
She (having answered the door in a dressing gown) was embarrassed but grateful.

I expect your neighbour knows the glass in her windows is transparent.
Just leave the binoculars in the drawer and try not to stare:judge:

Right here, right now I am kicking off the collection for the late Mr "IsFrowning" who passed away, in a pile of Kleenex and blisters, after apparently tripping over his own trouser-bound ankles while seemingly cleaning the inside of his front room windows.

His widow mentioned that he had latterly taken to cleaning said windows extremely regularly of an evening - and to avoid getting Windowlene in the bairns eyes had been locking the lounge door from the inside.

The inquest decided he must have been exercising when he went, although his body was found to be dangerously low in both zinc and salt and his eye sight had faded very badly these past few weeks.

Much missed, but not forgotten. Flowers and donations to be sent to the lady at number 32a who was very recently and quite inexplicably added as sole beneficiary of his will.

He will be buried in his Honda and there will be the traditional lighting of a 20 Donkey Jacket salute as is de riguer for bin men of his stature.

What was the box set and how many times have you had to watch episode one again?

My daughter still has about 100kg of chocolate left from Easter. Is it morally right for me to steal some of it to save her from overindulging?

So long as you send half of it to POP to snaffle while he's assessing Sif's photographic evidence
Chocolate makes my joints ache so my son's excess Easter choc-o-haul is safe from paternal pilferage. He's not overly keen on the stuff either so the top shelf in the utility room is stacked with slowly whitening eggs, bunnies and, for some reason, a robot of various vintages.

Thinking about it perhaps bazza could swap his daughter for one that doesn't like chocolate.

Considering my daughters seem to have an aversion to chocolate I have been helping it dissapear for them.

So, yes get stuck in if you wish.

Sat in the chip shop a restaurant with Mrs Pat this evening and we are observing our local misery-dealing parking enforcement officers. Mrs Pat notes that one has a leisurely lean against a wall, strolls about for 5 mins, then spends another 10 looking through everything on offer in the estate agents.

As a taxpayer Mrs Pat is all in favour of the council knowing what a waste of salary these people are. I don’t particularly want them being any more efficient.

What’s the answer?

He was probably strolling around because he had his eye on a particular car he wanted to ticket.

Reverting to post #2 momentarily. I would imagine that, in such a scenario, the lighter nights of summer might helpfully curtail the silhouette effect, thus ensuring modesty preserved, and no unnecessary scuff marks incurred.

Here's a somewhat heavy one: if you had a friend, who admitted to you that they did too much of a recreational drug at the weekend, what would you do?
