I'm thinking of doing this, subject to weather, as it's for a good cause & local. Also it will probably finish earlyish so won't take up the whole day.

I've copied the text below from an email from AROC:

7th August.
On 07th August we have been invited to join in with a Charity run for the Sussex Air Ambulance. Cars will be assembling at Shoreham Airport outside the art-deco terminal building and heading through the glorious Sussex countryside to the Lavender Line steam railway in Isfield where we will be having a BBQ and showing off the cars, there are a few other surprises that will be there on the day.
Also, the Lavender Line have kindly agreed to donate a pound from each train journey to the Sussex Air Ambulance.
There are a lot of car clubs invited to get involved from Minis and Fiat 500s to Porsches and Ferraris.
What you need to do now is get involved? To get your place, go to richard grant is fundraising for Sussex Air Ambulance and make a donation of £10 or more and we will see you on the 7th!!

There are going to be over 150 cars on this run, and it's on our doorstep, so it would be great to see Alfa Romeo well represented. For those of you on FACEBOOK please check out their page. Its called The Sussex Air Ambulance Summer Drive 2011.

DETAILS Arrive at Shoreham Airport at the main terminal building, soon after 0830hrs for coffee and registration and then cars will be set off at intervals. There is going to be a raffle with some very interesting prizes. A route map WILL BE PROVIDED and it takes in the villages of Plumpton, Cuckfield and Lindfield to name but three.

You can make your donation at the just giving website or on the day in cold, hard cash! ALL proceeds are going to the Air Ambulance.

Maybe see some of you there...weather permitting.

EDIT: I've just checked the weather & it's meant to be sunny all day! Metcheck.com - Detailed Daily Weather Forecast for TN22 - [Updated on 05 August 2011 at 11:00] - Weather Feeds - Live Data - Long Range Weather Forecasts

Lavender Line: Home

Unfortunately this is on the same day(tomorrow!) as The Great South GTV Run.

The finishing point of this one isn't far from the later starting point of the other & I believe their route brings them back near to The Lavender Line later on as they head towards Lewes on the way to Eastbourne.

So anyone who's really keen could do both.

Clive
